Terms & Conditions

By booking a ride with Ballito Beach Rides, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined below. These terms are intended to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, protect our animals, and clarify responsibilities.

1. Booking & Payment

All bookings must be made in advance. A ride is only confirmed once full payment has been received. Payment details and confirmation will be provided upon request. Prices may change without prior notice.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled ride or for missed appointments. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance may be rescheduled at our discretion. Rides cancelled due to unsafe weather will be rescheduled where possible, but are not eligible for refunds.

3. Rider Requirements

Riders must be a minimum of 6 years old and able to follow basic instructions. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A maximum weight limit of 105 kg applies for safety and horse welfare. Proper attire is required: long pants and closed shoes are mandatory. Helmets will be provided and must be worn at all times.

4. Health, Fitness & Medical Conditions

All riders must be in reasonable physical health and capable of mounting, dismounting, and riding without assistance. Any medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities must be disclosed in advance. We reserve the right to decline participation where safety may be compromised.

5. Conduct & Safety

Riders must follow the instructions of our guides at all times. No alcohol or substance use is allowed before or during the ride. Any unruly, abusive, or dangerous behavior will result in immediate removal without refund.

6. Weather Conditions

Rides proceed in most weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by our staff. In such cases, we will reschedule the ride to the next available slot. Refunds are not issued due to weather changes unless cancelled by us for safety reasons.

7. Indemnity & Limitation of Liability

Horse riding is a potentially dangerous activity. By participating, you agree to do so entirely at your own risk. Ballito Beach Rides, its owners, staff, and representatives are fully exempt from any claims related to loss, damage, injury, or death that may occur during any activity on or off the premises. All riders must complete and sign an indemnity form before participating. A parent or guardian must sign on behalf of any rider under 18.

8. Media Consent

We may take photos or videos during rides for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify us in writing before your ride.

9. Animal Welfare

Our horses are handled with care and trained for trail riding. Riders must treat all animals with respect. Any mistreatment or abuse of animals will result in the rider being removed without refund.

10. General

Ballito Beach Rides reserves the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice. The latest version will always be available at ballitobeachrides.co.za/terms-conditions.
